AN 18TH CENTURY SCRAFFITO DECORATED COCONUT MOUNTED AS A CHALICE WITH A WHITE METAL RIM,AND INTERIOR, an armorial cartouche and foot, the bowl incised with an 18th century couple and two armorials, possible a marriage chalice.

The bowl of the coconut has a very old fracture (About 5cms) through the right hand side of the right hand coat of arms. It has a generally very good polished finish but with some old surface scratching. There is white residue stuck in much of the engraving, probably old polish, the metal work is well fitted and tight but heavily tarnished.
