1957 Triumph Tiger Cub
Registration Number: 177 BBH
Frame Number: T30470
Launched at the 1953 Earls Court Motorcycle Show, the new Tiger Cub was light, easygoing, fun and ultimately popular with enthusiasts. By 1960 the troublesome, overstressed crankshaft assembly was now more rigidly supported by centre split crankcases, and fed by a better oil pump. Larger 17'' wheels were fitted together with a wider rear swing arm and longer dampers.
For servicing, you could remove the head without dropping the engine, and many other small improvements made the Tiger Cub a much more reliable ride. The public agreed, 11,000 were sold in 1960.
This 1957 Triumph Tiger Cub T20, nicely finished in maroon and grey, has formed part of a private Somerset collection in recent years, and is currently registered sorn. This is a matching numbers machine, which we are advised starts very easily, on the first or second kick. In the current ownership the engine has been rebuilt with a re-bore, piston kit, push rod tube and gasket set, plus other sundry items (receipts on file) and other small ancillary replacement parts, including HT leads, horn and mirrors. Now presenting well, the motorcycle is being offered with V5C, SORN document and receipt from Pit Stop Motorcycles Ltd.
