LARGE SILVERED BRONZE CHARLES SYKES SPIRIT OF ECSTASY SHOWROOM PIECE

A large silvered bronze showroom Spirit of Ecstasy, designed by Charles Sykes.

Originally a Rolls-Royce showroom piece, the sculpture was acquired by Santiago Bernabeu, president of the Real Madrid in the 1950s.

The sculpture was gifted to Real Madrid's leading goal scorer Raymond Kopa, in honour of being named 'Footballer of the Year' for 1958. A plaque is attached to the plinth, 

The sculpture is signed Charles Sykes on the base, and mounted on a marble plinth. The height is 55cm.
