NOTE: A related dish of this size, also painted with two scholars seated on a rocky promontory and surrounded by a crenulated castle wall border was included by Yukichi Inouye in the 2013 exhibition by T. Edo Inouye & Son 2013 of 100 Kosometsuke Chinese Blue and White Porcelain Small Dishes for the Japanese Market in the Ming Dynasty, no. 66.
