The Norton Commando 961 Sport MKII is a modern-day classic British motorcycle, blending vintage design with modern engineering. Powered by a 961cc parallel-twin engine, the bike is good for approximately 80bhp. With a sturdy steel frame and premium components such as Brembo brakes and Ohlins suspension, the Commando offers a performance-oriented ride in a sleek nostalgic design. The Commando 961 Sport MKII represents a fusion of heritage and innovation, offering a thrilling riding experience for enthusiasts who appreciate both tradition and modernity.
The first 200 numbered Norton Commandos are becoming collectible in their own right now, but none more so than this unique example. This one-of-a-kind hand built bike was built for television and motorcycle celebrity Henry Cole. The bike was finished in a silver Manx colour scheme, later to be adopted by the factory. This paint scheme, and much of this motorcycle’s specification, were later used to create the Commando 961 Cafe Racer, effectively making this motorcycle the prototype for this model. The original specification of the first 200 Limited Edition Signature models included carbon fibre wheels and Ohlins shock absorbers.
The bike, although road registered, has never been used and has completed a mere 2 miles only.
These machines are perfect for anyone seeking the reliability and rideability of modern motorcycling with the rawness and heritage these collectible Nortons offer.
A unique example which we feel is assured collectors status for the future.
Interested parties should note - the right hand rear indicator plastic bracket will need to be replaced.
