A SILVER TEA KETTLE ON STAND, LONDON 1747. A classic George II tea kettle on stand with a burner. The body chased all over with rococo flowers and scrolls. The detachable stand has cast and applied swags on 3 cast acanthus and shell feet. The swing handle retains some of the wicker binding.
The body of the kettle is engraved with the full arms of William Beresford, 1st Viscount Beresford, one of Wellington's Peninsular War generals.
